Everyone sees the ball. Few read the game.

Tactika is the padel tactical training app: it doesn’t teach you to hit, it teaches you to decide.

The app at work: the play "What do you play to move up?" stops before your shot, you pick the high, deep lob, confirm, and your partner smashes it into the fence. Mark explains why it is the best decision.

Read the point. Make your move.

Real match plays. You decide, see how the point ends, and Mark explains why.

  1. The play running: Opponent A’s lob drops towards your back court; the opponents wait right on the net.

    Watch the point

It stops right when it’s your call.

  2. The letters A, B and C on court, with A picked: "High, deep lob".

    Pick a letter

Where you stand, or where the ball goes.

  3. The point over: "Your point, into the fence", the best decision, and Mark’s explanation below.

    Confirm

And see how the point ends.

Mark, Tactika’s coach, in the team polo.

Mark explains why.

After each play, Mark explains the best decision and what goes wrong in each mistake.

What do you play to move up?

  1. A. High, deep lobThe best

Right on the net, the lob goes over them: they drop back to defend off their glass and you move up together.

  2. B. Low chiquita at Opponent A’s feetRisky

The chiquita needs room in front of them: right on the net, Opponent A plays it at tape height while you move up.

  3. C. Mid-height drive at moderate pace towards Opponent BIncorrect

A moderate mid-height ball does not protect your approach: Opponent B gets a comfortable volley.

Mark is Tactika’s coach, a character who is with you on every play. The explanations are reviewed by a coach.

Discover your tactical level.

From 0 to 7 with one decimal, like 4.2: the scale you already use at your club. It measures your decisions, not your shots.

Twelve different rated plays reveal your level. After that, your first attempt at each new play adjusts it; reviews do not change it.

The app reveals the level after calibration: 4.2, Upper intermediate. "You read the game like a player who is upper intermediate."
The tactical level scale, from 0.5 to 7.0, with its six categories.

4.2 Example

  1. Beginner0.5–2.0
  2. Intermediate2.0–3.5
  3. Upper intermediate3.5–4.5
  4. Advanced4.5–5.5
  5. Competition5.5–6.5
  6. Elite6.5–7.0
The app’s Paths screen: your next step, "Court positioning", and the topics to explore.

Train what you need most.

  • Paths

Ten topics, from the simplest plays to the hardest.

  • What you miss comes back

Spaced review: after 3 days, 2 weeks and 1 month.

    3. 2 weeks
    4. 1 month
  • The play of the day

    The same for every player.

Keep your streak alive.

Keep it alive by playing every day, with protectors for the days you can’t.

The streak flame lights up in the app: a 7-day streak, the full week, and a protector earned.

Compete every week. From Bronze to Diamond.

Every week, Monday to Sunday, you play against a group of up to 30 players from your division. On Monday the best of each group move up and the last ones move down.

Playing in the league will never cost a thing.

  1. Bronze
  2. Silver
  3. Gold
  4. Platinum
  5. Diamond
Moving up in the app: "You move up to Diamond.", from Platinum.

Free: the full habit. No ads. Ever.

Questions

Is Tactika free?

Yes. Free gives you 5 new plays a day that count towards your level, Mark’s explanation on each one, all the paths and the league. Tactika Pro is an optional subscription to train with no daily limit. And there are no ads.

Do I need an account?

No. Train without an account and keep your progress on your phone. Create an account with your email and a password to save your plays, tactical level and streak and recover them on another phone. The league requires an account.

How is my tactical level worked out?

Twelve different rated plays reveal your level, from 0 to 7 with one decimal. After that, your first attempt at each new play adjusts it; reviews do not change it. It measures your decisions, not your shots.

Who reviews the explanations?

A coach reviews them. Mark, Tactika’s coach, is the character who walks you through them on every play.

Is it on iPhone and Android?

Tactika launches in November on the App Store and Google Play. Meanwhile, you can request beta access on Instagram.

Which languages is it in?

Spanish and English. The app follows your phone’s language.

In the app, under You > Your account > Delete my account. You can also request it without installing the app: see Support. Deleting the account does not cancel Pro: the subscription is cancelled in the store.

What do you do with my data?

There are no ads and no ad tracking. Without an account, your plays, level and streak stay on your phone; with one, they are saved so you can recover them on another. The details are in the privacy policy.
